Everyone knows there are 3 sides to a story. His, hers and the truth. Finding love is harder than it seems. Most times love finds us before we find it. Well, at least that was the case for Mya and Andre. Two adults in their mid twenties searching for a bright light through rough times. Rough times that ironically lead them into each other's paths. Assumptions and misunderstanding can cause pain and confusion. Most times being in the wrong place at the wrong time can make a situation worse than it has to be. Especially when you get the chance to see things from both sides of the story. Take a look through each of their eyes and try to keep up. Here is the story of two souls accidentally finding love...on purpose.
Being a father is complicated. All the responsibilities and duties expected can be a lot to handle. Some men jump at the opportunity while others may cower away from it. In both situations, the child is the most affected in either a positive or negative way. Making the choice to forgive and attempt to develop a relationship with an estranged parent can be one of the most difficult tasks to take on. Especially when you were under the impression that the estranged parent was dead. How does a man forgive his father after growing up his entire life without him? In this part of the story, Andre must take on this exact scenario.
Mya, on the other hand, must figure out how far she's ready to go in her new relationship. Her previous relationship with Nabil ended on the worst terms ever. Jumping into another relationship so soon didn't seem like a great idea, but when the heart wants another, you have no choice but to answer the calling. Though the love is there, the trust is uncertain. Before she can pledge forever, she must first learn to let go of her previous relationship troubles.
Andre and Mya are ready to ride the road of love toward a destiny of forever. That is if the roadblocks they run into along the way are not enough to throw them off track. Welcome to Accidentally on Purpose 2.
Misunderstandings and jumping to conclusions can destroy a relationship faster than ever. Lack of communication and premeditated assumptions can further complicate an already unstable situation as well. Love's worst enemy at times is pride. Often the hardest thing for a person to do is admit to their faults and apologize to the person wronged, but what if the person apologizing feels like the one wronged? What are love's rules when love points the finger at the wrong person? How far should a person be willing to go to correct a problem that shouldn't have been a problem, to begin with? No one wants to be the first to say goodbye to love. Sometimes it's easier to just run away from it, but, how far can a person run when their heart wants to stay? When the mind and the heart argue, whose side does the soul choose?
Trisha aka Trish was a typical good girl from an urban neighborhood. She grew up in an area most people would refer to as a "ghetto" but to her, it was home. She was a great student who kept her grades up with no other focus than keeping her eyes on being a success in life. She was the second oldest child, in her single-parent household after her older brother Tracy and followed by her twin younger siblings Tron and Triece. She was raised by her mother Ms. Smith who constantly attempted to fill her head with advice on dealing with her life decisions.
All of Trish's goals and focuses come to a halt when she is approached by a much older man by the name of Ryan aka Rain. Rain was a big-name street figure who came into Trish's life and exposed her to the gilts and glamour fast money could bring. His pretty boy appearance and constant display of affection for Trish had her mind wide open to any and everything he wanted to do with her. He was a grown man molding a girl in transition to being a woman, into a puppet for his own personal use.
Trish was also being adored by her older brother Tracy's best friend Jay. Jay was a young man on his way to graduating high school trying to find his path in life as a man. He was in love with Trish, and was not afraid to let her or her family know how deep his feelings were for her. Trish could see his repetitive attempts to gain her attention but did not have time for a good boy with no money. She was lost in a world where easy money and verbal reminders meant more than respect and self-love. In time chasing a man like Rain would lead her to situations no young girl should have to face on their own.
This is Trisha's story...
Now that there is no more Rain, Trish has to find a way to get her life back on track. She has to move on with life dealing with the loss of her child and the rough time she had loving a man that never really cared for her. She has learned a lot in the short time she was with Rain, however, the world Rain has dragged her into is not yet done with her.
Though Trish and Yo-Yo had a short falling out with each other due to Trish's unhealthy relationship with Rain, they eventually let go of the nonsense that was keeping them apart. They move on to continue to be better friends than they were before. In this book, they will find that not only do they have a strong bond, but they also have more in common than they think.
Though Trish never really took time to acknowledge the feelings Jay had for her, he is still by her side through all of the craziness. He is playing his position as her friend but he still holds on to his feelings of love for her. After finally being done with Rain, Trish is finally aware of the feelings she has for Jay, but she has chosen to hold off on acting on them so soon. However, time may not be long enough for her to wait on expressing her love. As we pick up where the first book left off we will find that Trish's problems with Rain may be over...but there is a new problem on the horizon...
We continue Trish's Story....
After learning the background of her Father's family ties to the streets, Trish finds herself torn between two sides. While ignoring all warnings and red flags the life of a queen pen is very appealing to her. Coming from nothing and having a taste of something bigger can be like a drug. Financial freedom can be a luxury but at what cost? The influence of Trish's newly discovered bloodline can be worst than anything she has ever encountered. Being blinded by the shiny lights can cause blindness toward the path ahead.
Everyone around Trish is trying their best to pull her away from the fire, though she is fighting to dive in and burn. It's hard to convince someone who's been hungry their entire life not to bite the poisonous fruit. Some have to learn the hard way. Trish is ready to find out the hard way. She's about to learn how much an illegal life of luxury really cost. She's about to receive a lesson on life that requires you to sink or swim. She's about to learn that in an ocean full of sharks there are no life jackets.
Trish's Story part 3...
Tracy was the typical young black boy growing up in a ghetto coming to a crossroad in life. The road from being a boy to a man. Being the eldest son to a mother doing all she could to provide for four children could put a strain or false sense of responsibility on a young man. His only father figure at the time was an abusive immature example of everything Tracy hoped to never become. The only decent man he had known with his mother was his late step father, the father of his younger sister Trish.
His world was on the verge of change and was becoming more than his mother could handle alone. Without seemingly any other options, she finally decided to reach out to his biological father Big Tracy in hopes that he would step in and help provide his son with the proper tools to be a man. Not knowing that the world Big Tracy dwelled in was way more detrimental than Tracy had ever been a part of before. A world consisting of drugs and violence, far more than what could be seen in hood movies or tv shows. The outcome of the experiences Tracy must face could either make or break him in the end.
Here is Tracy's story...
"Francis is dead". That was the last call Samantha expected to receive the day before her first day as a detective. She had just received her promotion. He didn't have enemies. He didn't have people that disliked him or held any grudges toward him...Well there was one person. Brandon. Brandon grew up in Hayward as well. Unlike Francis, Brandon was the street guy. He was well connected in the illegal world and even ran a crew who treated him as if he were a crime boss. Brandon felt like "the man" in the streets and was very proud of it. He was also the main suspect in Francis's death. At least that's how everyone close to the situation saw him. According to the story, the last time Francis was seen alive was the night of his fiancé's birthday party. He ended the night in an altercation with Brandon. The story goes...Well, read the book to find out the story.
